Summer Classes
Whether you are new to Thrive or have been coming for years, our eight-week sessions are a great way to learn new skills and have fun making art throughout the summer. We’ll meet once a week to create a variety of projects in different media.

Tuition Rates

Just Beginning
Ages: 3-4

A delightful class for young blooming artists. Play with paints, fabrics, pastels, found objects and more while exploring the world of shape, color and texture through art and stories. This is a great class to develop fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Children should be able to sustain focus on a project for at least 10 minutes and participate in a classroom setting without a parent.

Duration: 45 minutes

Teens & Adults
Ages: 14+

This class is for beginning to intermediate levels of experience and confidence. Find your creative expression as you explore different subjects, techniques and media in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment. Students develop fundamental drawing skills and their own creative approaches to subjects.

Duration: 2 hours

I'm an Artist
Ages: 4-5

Students are taught how to create the outline of simple shapes to create recognizable pictures that they are proud of. We draw things kids love, like birds, bugs, fairy tale castles, and favorite cartoon characters. Students should be able to write a few letters in the alphabet and be comfortable following direction in a classroom setting on their own.

Duration: 50 minutes

Draw & Paint I
Ages: 5½-8

In this engaging class students draw favorite animals, characters, still life, and more while learning fundamental art elements: line, shape, texture, color, value and space. Draw & Paint I is intended for students who are moving up from I'm an Artist or are 6 to 7 years old and new to drawing classes. Fun projects with kid appeal!

Duration: 1 hour

Intermediate
Ages: 9-12

A mixed media drawing class for older students who are fairly confident in their drawing skills. Projects include human form, still life, the animal kingdom and more. Students are encouraged to develop their own style while they learn art concepts and improve their drawing and painting skills.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
