Thrive offers fine arts classes for children, teens and adults.
Classes meet once a week and run through the academic year. Our small
class size, individualized instruction, and continually changing art curriculum allow
you to join at any time.

A delightful class for young blooming artists. Play with paints, fabrics, pastels, found objects and more while exploring the world of shape, color and texture through art and stories. This is a great class to develop fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Children should be able to sustain focus on a project for at least 10 minutes and participate in a classroom setting without a parent.
Ages: 3-4
Duration: 45 minutes

Students are taught how to create the outline of simple shapes to create recognizable pictures that they are proud of. We draw things kids love, like birds, bugs, fairy tale castles, and favorite cartoon characters. Students should be able to write a few letters in the alphabet and be comfortable following direction in a classroom setting on their own.

In this engaging class students draw favorite animals, characters, still life, and more while learning fundamental art elements: line, shape, texture, color, value and space. Draw & Paint I is intended for students who are moving up from I’m an Artist or are 6 to 7 years old and new to Thrive drawing classes. Fun projects with kid appeal!
Ages: 5½-7

A guided drawing and painting class designed for older beginners. Starting with the basics, students learn to draw from the animal kingdom, three-dimensional objects, illustrations and their imagination. This class is intended for students who are moving up from Draw & Paint I or are 8 to 9 years old and new to Thrive drawing classes. A great confidence builder!

Some of our young students wish they had some extra time to complete their artwork and this class is especially for them. Students receive a Draw & Paint lesson and have an extra half-hour to embellish their art with media such as glitter, gel pens, fabric, found objects and other imaginative items.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

A mixed media drawing class for older students who are fairly confident in their drawing skills. Projects include human form, still life, the animal kingdom and more. Students are encouraged to develop their own style while they learn art concepts and improve their drawing and painting skills.

This class is geared to students who are ready to be challenged further and want to tackle elements of art that require serious, focused effort. A fine arts class for students who have basic drawing skills.
Ages: 10+
Duration: 2 hours

This class is for beginning to intermediate levels of experience and confidence. Students find creative expression while exploring different subjects, techniques and media in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment. Students develop fundamental drawing skills and their own creative approaches to subjects.
Ages: 13+
