Classes meet once a week and run through the academic year. Our small
class size, individualized instruction, and continually changing art curriculum allow
you to join at any time.

Ages: 3½-4
A delightful class for our young blooming artists! Play with watercolors, acrylics, pastels, chalk, glitter and more while exploring the world of shape, color and texture through art and stories.
Duration: 45 minutes

Ages: 4-5
This class is geared towards bringing out the inner artist in our beginners! Within a fun and supportive environment, children are encouraged to develop their skills through exploration with markers, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, chalk, glitter and more. Students will draw fun and familiar subjects like animals, birds, landscapes, people, art masters, and vehicles

Ages: 5-7
In this engaging class students will draw favorite animals, characters, still life, vehicles and more while learning fundamental art elements: line, shape, texture, color, value and space. Our fun projects are geared towards developing drawing and painting skills within each theme, while also encouraging individual creativity and expression. While many of the projects are guided, each student works with his or her own vision and produces a unique finished piece.

Ages: 7-9
Let's build artistic confidence! This class is geared towards the older beginner and has the same guided structure as our Discover Drawing class. Students learn fundamental drawing and painting concepts as they build confidence in their skills and their ability to make their own artistic decisions. Media exploration will increase in this class, as students experiment with markers, chalk and oil pastel, water color and acrylic paint, and colored pencils.

Ages: 6-9
The goal of the Explore Art class is to give students additional time to complete their art and embellish it by combining media such as glitter, paint, pencil and colored pencils, watercolors, acrylics, markers, and other imaginative items. Students will learn new techniques such as resist painting, layering and creating value, texture building, and more.

Ages: 9+
This fine arts class is intended for students who have intermediate drawing skills and are looking to learn more sophisticated artistic techniques. Students in the Mastering Art class are ready to advance their skills to create more three-dimensionality and realism in their work. Projects include animals, nature, still life, cartoons, human form, various master artists and landscapes. Emphasis is placed on shading, perspective, composition and developing finished pieces. Students will be encouraged to develop their own style and creative approach.

Ages: 5-10
Make our excellent art program a part of your home school curriculum. We provide students with academic content that compliments the theme of each drawing and painting lesson. We cover many subjects throughout the year while exploring art concepts such as shading, color, design, perspective, composition, value and more. Home School projects include: environmental studies, nature, human culture and far-away places, animals, and learning about inspiring master artists!

Ages: 10+
By popular request, we now offer an advanced class for students who are ready for more studio art exploration! This class is intended for teens and high school students with basic drawing skills, and also for those who are interested in preparing for a higher level of art, such as the AP studio art program in Seattle high schools. Students gain the confidence to create portfolios for the 2-D Design, 3-D Design or Drawing sections of the AP college-level class. Teachers will introduce a variety of media, including graphite, Conte, charcoal, color pencil, pastels, acrylic and watercolor. Perspective, Human Form, Portraiture, Animals, Still Life, Nature Studies and Master Artists are just some of the projects offered.

Ages: 13+
The Adult Beginners class is intended for adult students at beginning and intermediate levels of drawing skill and confidence. It's a completely safe, relaxing, non-judgmental environment where students are taught how to use the elements of art to create realistic drawings. As students become familiar with basic drawing skills, new mediums like pencil, watercolor, charcoal and acrylic paint are introduced and students are encouraged to experiment with the techniques and visual effects that each medium allows.
