By popular request, we now offer an advanced class for students who are ready for more studio art exploration! This class is intended for teens and high school students with basic drawing skills, and also for those who are interested in preparing for a higher level of art, such as the AP studio art program in Seattle high schools. Students gain the confidence to create portfolios for the 2-D Design, 3-D Design or Drawing sections of the AP college-level class. Teachers will introduce a variety of media, including graphite, Conte, charcoal, color pencil, pastels, acrylic and watercolor. Perspective, Human Form, Portraiture, Animals, Still Life, Nature Studies and Master Artists are just some of the projects offered.

In this supportive class, we emphasize building confidence and encouraging self-expression. We support
independent study but offer plenty of guidance if the student would like it. Students can take their
skills in shading and perspective to the next level. To honor and celebrate each child's learning, students
are invited to participate in our Spring Art Walk.
